Laser Engraving Services in Wake Forest, NC
Laser Engraving with Purpose.
Laser engraving isn’t just about making something look cool. Done right, it adds clarity, compliance, and a personal touch that holds up over time.
At City Armory in Wake Forest, North Carolina, we handle required markings and select custom work on receivers, slides, barrels, magazines, and more. Every mark is placed with intent—clean, readable, and sized for real-world use.
Prices below are based on typical placements and standard depth on stripped or easily accessible parts. Complex artwork, multiple locations, or problem surfaces may require a custom quote.
Compliance & Required Markings
We offer engraving for required firearm markings including NFA / SBR information, manufacturer-style markings, and additional identification lines where needed.
All work is laid out with legibility and placement in mind—no random text thrown on just to “check a box.”
| Service | Typical Use | Price |
|---|---|---|
| NFA / SBR Marking | Name / trust info and location on receiver | $75 |
| Serial / Manufacturer Style Line | New builds, custom receivers, or replacement markings | $75 |
| Additional Line of Text | Model, caliber, city / state, or similar | $35 |
| Safety / Selector Markings | SAFE / FIRE, pictograms, or similar indicators | $45 |
We’ll review placement with you before engraving. Some receivers and finishes limit where text can be placed cleanly and safely.
Custom Logos & Personalization
We offer select custom engraving for logos, text, and identifiers on firearms and hard-use gear. Not every idea works in metal at a small scale, so we’ll be honest about what will and won’t reproduce cleanly.
Simple, bold artwork with clear lines works best. We’ll help you dial in size and placement so it looks intentional, not cluttered.
| Service | Notes | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Simple Text Line | Name, call sign, unit ID, or similar | $50 |
| Simple Logo / Symbol | Clean logo or symbol in one location | $75 |
| Multi-Position Package | Logo + text on two or more locations | $160 |
| Magazines / Accessories (per item) | Mag bodies, baseplates, or select gear | $30 |
We reserve the right to decline artwork that can’t be engraved cleanly, is unsafe for the part, or conflicts with our standards.
What We Can Engrave
If it’s a hard surface that sees real use, there’s a good chance we can mark it.
- AR lowers and uppers, pistol frames (where appropriate), and slides
- Barrels, comps, and muzzle devices (in suitable locations)
- Magazines and baseplates
- Optic housings, mounts, and select accessories
- Knives, tools, and hard-use gear (case by case)
Some coatings, polymers, and finishes behave differently under the laser. We may recommend a test mark, alternative placement, or a different approach if we think it will hold up better.
Artwork & File Guidelines
Clean artwork makes for clean engraving. Sending the right files up front saves time and keeps the final mark sharp.
- Best file types: Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG) or high-resolution PNG.
- Keep it bold: Simple shapes and clear lines engrave better than thin, detailed art.
- No screenshots: Photos of logos or low-res images usually won’t engrave cleanly.
- Size matters: Very small text or details may need to be simplified.
If you’re not sure whether your art will work, email it to us with a photo of the item and we’ll make a recommendation before you come in.
